How to play Size It Up
Look, stretch, measure. Five times a day.
Three steps per round
- Look
The solid blue shape is your yardstick. It's drawn at true scale and its real size is marked beside it — it stays put while you work.
- Stretch
Drag across the board, pinch, use the slider or the arrow keys to grow or shrink the dashed white outline until it looks right next to the yardstick.
- Measure!
The real size snaps into place as a yellow outline. You'll see your accuracy, your stars, and the size in everyday terms — like "about 3 school buses long".
Controls

The yardstick stays put
The blue yardstick keeps its size while you work, so you always have a fixed point to compare against. If you stretch the outline past the edge of the board, the view zooms out to make room — the grid squares grow and the label in the corner tells you how much each square is worth.
Accuracy and stars
Every round gives you an accuracy score: the smaller of your size and the real size, divided by the larger. Guess 40 m for something 50 m long and you're 80% accurate; guess 100 m and you're 50% accurate — overshooting and undershooting by the same factor count the same.
| Accuracy | Stars |
|---|---|
| 90% or better | ★★★ |
| 75–89% | ★★☆ |
| 50–74% | ★☆☆ |
| Below 50% | ☆☆☆ |
Five rounds make a game, so a flawless day is 15 stars. Your average accuracy is shown too, for bragging rights.
Archive, history and sharing
- Missed a day? Every past puzzle is in the archive, exactly as everyone played it. It goes into your history but doesn't change your streak.
- Your calendar. My history shows every day you played, each day's five rounds, your accuracy trend and the themes you are best at. Download a backup to move it to another device.
- Show off. After a game, Share result makes an image card — answers hidden by default so you don't spoil it for friends — plus a link and QR code that let them play the same puzzle against your score.
Tips from the drawing board
- Carry a few anchors. Adult ≈ 1.75 m, double-decker bus ≈ 4.4 m tall, school bus ≈ 12 m long, Eiffel Tower ≈ 330 m.
- Count, don't guess. Ask "how many yardsticks would fit?" rather than reaching for a number.
- Check the measured side. Towers are measured by height, ships and whales by length, planets by diameter.
- Use the grid. Each square has a real size — handy when the yardstick is far away from your outline.

Questions
How does the daily game work?
Every day brings five new pairs of objects — the same five for every player — refreshed at midnight in your own time zone. Each round can earn up to three stars, so the best possible day is 15 stars. Finish all five to extend your streak.
How is accuracy calculated?
Accuracy is the smaller of your size and the true size, divided by the larger. 90% or better earns three stars, 75% two stars, 50% one star. Guessing double or half the real size are both exactly 50% accurate.
Can I play more than once a day?
Yes. Size It Up Unlimited deals new sets of five whenever you like, with Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty. You can also play themed sets — animals, landmarks, space and more — or send any set to a friend as a duel link.
